Dr. Trista is a specialist in the assessment of toddler, child, and youth Autism Spectrum Disorder (including its different presentation in girls), learning disorders, ADHD, anxiety/depression, and a wide variety of other conditions.

She is currently Registered in Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia.

REGISTERED PSYCHOLOGIST

Dr. Barbara is a specialist in the assessment for individuals ranging in age from preschool to adulthood in the areas of, ADHD, learning disabilities, anxiety, depression, autism spectrum, and intellectual disabilities. 

She is currently Registered in Alberta.

Candice holds a Master’s degree in School and Applied Child Psychology from the University of Calgary. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Education from the same institution

PSYCHOMETRIST AND STUDENT MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELLOR

Gabrielle is a doctoral candidate in Counselling Psychology at the University of Calgary. She has previously received a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology at the Western University. With advanced graduate training, Gabrielle offers both counselling and assessment services at Acorn Psychology.

Melissa earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology (Honours) and completed her Master’s degree in School Psychology at the University of Calgary.

Pariza Fazal is a Registered Provisional Psychologist with a strong foundation in psychological assessment, child and adolescent mental health, and child-centred play therapy. She is deeply committed to helping children, adolescents, and families feel understood, supported, and empowered through compassionate, evidence-based care.

PSYCHOMETRIST

Before pursuing a career in Psychology, Kayla spent six years as a teacher in both mainstream and special education settings. In her roles as a classroom and resource teacher, she collaborated closely with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support children with diverse learning, emotional, and behavioural needs.

PRACTICUM STUDENT

Tina recently completed her Master’s in Counselling and is currently pursuing her PhD in Counselling Psychology, both at the University of Calgary.

RESIDENT

Courtney is a Registered Provisional Psychologist who has earned her Masters of Science in Educational Psychology with a specialization in School and Applied Child Psychology. She is currently pursuing her doctorate at the University of Calgary.

Courtney has experience and formal training in assessment, including administering psychological, neuropsychological, psycho-educational and gifted assessments in both private and school-based settings. Her areas of specialty include psycho-educational assessment, neurodiversity, child and teen mental health, child development, behaviour concerns, and learning disabilities. Courtney has a variety of experiences both volunteering and working with children and adolescents with various developmental, mental health and co-occurring conditions. She practices with the principles of inclusivity, safety and kindness at the forefront of her work. Courtney connects with her clients in a manner that allows for a safe, positive and fun environment.

When she's not in the office, she's usually outdoors with her lovable golden retriever, Doug, and her almost horse-sized german shepherd, Bear!

PSYCHOMETRIST & STUDENT MENTAL HEALTH COUNSELLOR

Chelsie is completing her Masters of Counseling at City University and has previously earned her Masters of Education through Acadia University and her Bachelor of Education at the University of Alberta/Red Deer College.

Chelsie’s clinical perspective is shaped by her 20 year teaching career, family therapy training, and her own parenting journey. She is passionate about viewing children with complex emotional and learning needs through a strengths-based lens and supporting them and their families with practical and relationally-focused interventions.

Trained in systemic family therapy, Chelsie integrates narrative therapy, solution-focused approaches, and the IPScope framework into her counselling work. She strives to help clients identify their internal resilience, enhance their external support systems, and develop more adaptive habits that lead to meaningful and fulfilling lives. Chelsie is particularly sensitive to families who may be navigating family-life changes such as separation, divorce, and stepfamily blending.

In her free-time, Chelsie enjoys gardening, skiing, coaching softball, and snuggling with one of her cats and a good book.
